IKFT 06-18 Bachelor / Master Thesis: An Intelligent System for Reaction Kinetic Modeling and Reactor Design
The “Scale-up of Catalytic Processes" group at Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT) focus its research in the conversion of CO2-rich syngas to fuel compounds and important chemicals such as methanol and dimethylether (DME) at lab-scale using both commercial and in-house prepared catalysts.
Our current work is targeting broad validation of the results from lab-scale experiments including reactor modelling and process simulation. The numerical simulations are performed using commercially available software, e.g. PRESTO-KINETICS, MATLAB, PHYTON, ASPEN and DETCHEM
- Literature research on application of artificial intelligence (AI) in kinetic modeling.
- Kinetic modeling of the methanol and DME synthesis
- First steps for hybrid kinetic modeling
- Statistical analysis of kinetic parameters
Chemical and process engineering or in a related area. Basic knowledge in technical chemistry, experience in programing (e.g. Matlab, Python…), as well as in catalysis are desired. Besides the professional qualification, strong commitment, independent and self-responsible working are expected.
