Job description

The aim of the project is the development of new materials for 3D and 4D printing at the micro and nanoscale, whose shapes can be controlled on demand opening new opportunities in this emerging field. The technique selected for the printing is 3D laser lithography, an excellent technology for the preparation of 3D structures with sub-micron resolution.

You will be responsible for the design and synthesize of new photoresists, also known as inks, based on smart materials and the fabrication of 3D micro- and nanostructures using the 3D laser lithography technique. You work closely with the teams of Prof. Barner-Kowollik (Polymer Chemistry) and Prof. Wegener (Physics) on analysing data, documenting research findings, and authoring first author high quality journal papers. Furthermore you present the research findings at internal meetings, meetings with the academic interdisciplinary collaborators as well as national and international conferences by oral and poster contributions

There will be the possibility to work towards a PhD.

Personal qualification

You have a university degree (Diplom (Uni) / Master) in the field of chemistry, materials science or related fields, as well as some background in synthetic organic and/or polymer chemistry. Good knowledge in data analysis and processing is an asset. Excellent teamwork and written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
