IPE 01-19 Internship, Bachelorthesis or Masterthesis: Modeling of Smart Factory Electricity Load for Integration in Energy Storage System
SmILES is an on-going EU-project, which aims to investigate the integration of heterogeneous energy sources and storages, as well as to exchange best practices for modelling and simulation of energy systems.
As part of this, the Institute for Data Processing and Electronic (IPE) works on new methods to increase the availability and share of renewable energies in the smart grid by integrating lithium-ion battery storage systems (BESS). We develop, compare and cross-test models and algorithms for an optimized design, operation and control of the local hybrid energy system.
The goal of this work is to develop a model for the electricity consumption of a smart factory, which is located at KIT Campus North, based on measured power profiles. Analysis of the machine power profiles should be carried out in order to derive component-based models for individual machines.
