You work as a group leader in the EU project BIG-MAP and the Helmholtz-BASF project DigiCAM and coordinate the associated activities. In this context, you will develop a high-impact research portfolio in this area and supervise doctoral students. You will also participate in the formulation of applications for third-party funding. You will develop methods for multi-scale simulation of batteries and investigate new battery types, both in terms of the development of methods and their application. We expect you to publish your research results in leading national and international journals.

Personal qualification

Following a university degree (diploma (university)/ master's) in physics/chemistry/materials science  with a theoretical focus you have obtained an outstanding Ph.D. degree and gathered additional documented research experience. We expect several years of professional experience in the development and application of material science simulations for battery materials and in the simulation of the structure and function of battery materials. We require sound knowledge of electrochemistry, solid state physics/ chemistry as well as knowledge of the corresponding simulation methods, in particular density functional theory/ molecular dynamics. Programming knowledge (C ++, Fortran, Python, parallel algorithms), experience in the acquisition of third-party funds, in staff management, in the supervision of doctoral students and teaching experience complete your profile.
